Family Nature Club: Oxtober Farm Tour 2017

Want to see your favorite grocery store produce in its natural habitat?

Bring your family out for the Snoqualmie Valley Adventure Family Nature Club visit to Oxbow! Join us for a Fall Farm Adventure where we’ll tour the Kids’ Farm and embark on a 6 Plant Part scavenger hunt, while also learning what the plants are busy doing in the fall and the important critters who help our food grow.

What: This guided farm adventure will take families through our Kids’ Farm field on a scavenger hunt for the six plant parts—roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds. When we find the plant parts, we learn about their function, then harvest and eat them! Families tour the Kids’ Farm with an Oxbow farmer educator and each family will take home a sugar pie pumpkin with a recipe.

When: The event starts at 11:00am, so please arrive by 10:45 to allow time for parking and checking in.  

Cost: This Farm Adventure is free! Additionally, you and your family are welcome to stay and enjoy the rest of the fall festivities at Oxbow. There is no fee to enter, but we are charging a small amount for certain activities. There will be live music, a beer + wine garden, hay rides, and more!

Note: If you ask Google Maps to take you to Oxbow Farm, you will not end up at the pumpkin patch!

Heading South on Hwy 203 (also Carnation-Duvall Road) toward Carnation:

1/2 mile south of the roundabout at NE 124th St. you will see a sign that says Oxbow West Entrance at 268th Ave NE

Turn right onto 268th Ave NE, note this is a country dirt road

Drive 10 MPH for another 1/2 mile, the entrance will be on your left.

Heading North on Hwy 203 (also Carnation-Duvall Road) From Carnation

We are 6 miles north of Carnation

1/2 mile past our Delivery Entrance you will see a sign that says Oxbow West Entrance

Turn left onto 268th Ave NE, note this is a country dirt road

Drive 10 MPH for another 1/2 mile, the entrance will be on your left.
